(More customer reviews)First off I AM A CANON DEVOTEE. Easy to use. I generally buy a new camera about every 5 to 7 years. Needed one to replace my old Canon A95 that was clunky to take along anywhere. This camera is easy to use and I like the top slide button to switch from camera to video. It makes it really easy to start a video at any time. The zoom while video is in progress is a great feature.I like the circular dial to change functions on camera, it is lightning fast to switch options as opposed to pushing a button repeatedly on most camera's.
The size of the lcd screen is by far the largest I have seen on an elph and was a contributing factor for me as I often forget my reading glasses. It's not a problem with this camera.
I purchased this camera based on the fact that it has a better low light video feature. I used it at a concert where I was over 150 feet back and it came out great. Very clear. Sound quality is great.
Make sure you get an sd card that has lots of memory due to the high quality of video and pixels that suck up the space. I've heard of a new 64g coming out soon and even higher to come( I bought a 32g Extreme). The info on the net on this camera says you can record an entire sporting event on one card for over 3 hrs of video. Great if you have kids and want to capture their sporting, and stage performance events in full. I recommend getting a backup battery so you don't run out of charge. Battery will deplete if you are browsing your camera then go to shoot a long event.
Camera's have come a long way since the VCR size of my first VHS Movie camera , to my canon smaller vhs c. TO this which far surpasses them in light years as to the quality HD video it produces.Awaiting the birth of my first grandchild in December. My husband will be calling me Carol Spielberg again.
