The performance of the "IS" and "USM" features result in many exceptional photographs.My primary photographic interests are insects and flowers, when I can not get close to my target with a macro this is my lens of choice, especially for insects. Its a heavy lens on a Canon 50D but the photo quality is worth the agravation of lugging it around.
