(More customer reviews)Just bought my first Sirui tripod from Alice at Lensca in Walnut Ca. She was extremely helpful and very patient. I did not get the ball head they offered because I already had a good ball head. What I didn't know was that for proper folding you need a smallish ball head so that the legs fold in close to the center by design. The ball head I put on works fine but does not allow the tripod to be as compact as possible. I should reiterate that the ball head I am using is not one designed by Sirui.
I have been a professional photographer for more than 30 years and this may very well be one of the best tripods that I have ever owned. I have two others that fit in their own niche. The Sirui N2204 is the absolute best value of any tripod in this particular class. Folding, compact, light tripods.

I considered Gitzo, Induro, Benro, Giottos and of course Manfrotto. The Sirui won hands down.
Stable, great fit and finish, compact, light and versatile are just a few adjectives I would assign to the Sirui N2204.
I don't normally use or carry a mono pod so the fact that one of the legs easily disengaged from the tripod is a plus. The connection was very positive and the machine work quite stellar. Switching from tripod to mono pod and back was quick and painless.

The included short column was a real bonus. I think Gitzo gets about $50 for their optional column.
Other items that came with the tripod are an excellent case, several allen wrenches for adjusting tension in the legs, a carry strap and a second top and stud for the short column so you don't have to swap those items back and forth. Very complete. What a refreshing thought, a complete tripod/mono pod with all options included. That makes this already reasonably priced tripod an extra value.

Everything about this product screamed quality. Not flashy like an American luxury car, more like an austere European luxury car. Mercedes comes to mind. Fit and finish was amazing. The castings were sleek and low profile and the coating was perfect. I really looked for aesthetic issues and found none.

I put the N2204 through every aspect of it's mechanical functions. Folded, unfolded, max height, minimum height, legs fully splayed and center column inverted. Every part worked flawlessly and left me confident I could subject this Sirui N2204 to the rigors of daily use.

Traveling with the Sirui N2204 should be a pleasure since it is a full two pounds lighter and eight inches shorter (folded up) than the excellent aluminum Benro I was using.

THE BOTTOM LINE...the Sirui N2204 is an oustanding tripod that can compete at all levels with the likes of Gitzo, Manfrotto, Induro and others. That comes from a grizzled old pro that has see it all. I keep up with technology and look very hard at any product offering that is useful to me. The Sirui N2204 is a rare combination of high quality, flawless good looks and a reasonable price.

Dare I say it...the Sirui N2204 tripod is the best value in it's class. I can only assume that there other product offerings are equal to the N2204
